VT Group Enhances C4ISR Modernization and Sustainment Solutions with Acquisition of National Technologies Associates, Inc. (NTA)

VT Group, a premier middle-market technology integrator and C4ISR solutions provider to the Federal government, is pleased to announce the acquisition of National Technologies Associates, Inc. (NTA), a Patuxent River, Maryland-based firm specializing in program management, engineering, and logistics services for military aviation platforms and systems.

Founded in 1981, NTA’s 300 employees provide research, development, test and evaluation (RDT&E) support and a full spectrum of mission-critical maintenance and sustainment services for fixed and rotary-wing, tilt-rotor, and unmanned aircraft. The acquisition of NTA positions VT Group as a key industry partner to the Defense Department on several high-priority initiatives, including the U.S. Navy’s Presidential Helicopter and V-22 Osprey programs.

Sunil Ramchand Joins VT Group as President and Chief Growth Officer

VT Group, a premier middle-market technology integrator and C4ISR solutions and services provider to the Federal government, is pleased to announce the appointment of Sunil Ramchand as President and Chief Growth Officer, and a member of its Board of Directors. Ramchand will take on responsibility for the strategic growth of the VT Group enterprise, to include both corporate and business development.

Ramchand is the former Chief Executive Officer of Mission Essential, a company he led from 2015 to 2018 and transformed into the global language and cultural advisory services leader, a trusted analytic and operational partner to the Intelligence Community, and an industry-leading provider of ISR information management solutions.

Prior to joining Mission Essential in 2009, Ramchand held both military and civilian leadership positions at the White House during the Administrations of Presidents Clinton, Bush, and Obama. He is a military veteran and seasoned Defense executive with policy, strategy, and acquisition experience. Ramchand served as an active duty naval surface warfare officer and later as a Defense Department civilian. He holds degrees from the U.S. Naval Academy and Harvard University, and is a Board member of the Navy League of the United States.

Looking to the Future VT Group Hires Chief Legal Officer

VT Group, a premier middle-market technology integrator and C4ISR solutions and services provider to the Federal government, is pleased to announce the hiring of Ted Timberlake as Chief Legal Officer.

Ted is an experienced transactions, corporate, operations, government contracting, and compliance attorney, and he will lead the legal, contracts, risk management, and industrial security departments. Ted previously served as general counsel of Vistronix and Global Integrated Security (USA) and worked in the legal departments of General Dynamics and Veridian.

In collaboration with other key executives, Ted successfully planned and executed several complex strategic financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and post-acquisition integrations while he was with Vistronix, including the acquisitions of six technology companies and the sale of the company to ASRC Federal Holding Company in 2016.

Ted joins an executive leadership team with years of experience and an intimate knowledge of the industry. The team will focus their attention on the organization’s strategic growth and development and further developing its core competencies and capabilities.

Ted received his juris doctor degree magna cum laude from The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law in Washington, D.C. and his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. He is admitted to the Virginia State Bar and the Fourth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

VT Group Focuses Business on C4ISR Market

As part of its continued strategic focus on the C4ISR market, VT Group announces the sale of its Healthcare and International Hospitality business segments to Sangha Associates, a company owned and operated by former VT Group CEO, Dean Willard. The Healthcare business involves the delivery of nurse call and real-time location systems and solutions and services to hospitals. The International Hospitality business involves designing, building, installing and maintaining Gigabit Passive Optical Networks (GPON) for in-room and back-of-house solutions and services to hotels located outside of North America. The transaction closed on October 31, 2017.

“The divestiture of VT Group’s Healthcare and International Hospitality segments is the right deal at the right time for both parties,” said John Hassoun, President and CEO, VT Group. “VT Group will continue to focus on driving growth in its core services and offerings.”

POISED FOR GROWTH VT GROUP HIRES CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

VT Group, a premier mid-size technology integrator and C4ISR solutions and services provider to the Federal government, is pleased to announce the hiring of Alicia R. Townes, Sr. Vice President and CFO, to serve on VT Group’s Executive Leadership Team.

Alicia has held finance and accounting senior leadership positions at several government contracting companies, including Vistronix, Sotera, GDI, Vangent, and Deltek. Her wealth of experience in the government contracting market will help VT Group integrate the finance and accounting capabilities to better support operations, customers, and the organization’s strategic growth.

Industry Vet John Hassoun Appointed President and CEO of VT Group

VT Group, a premier mid-size technology integrator and C4ISR solutions and services provider to the Federal government, is pleased to announce that effective immediately, John Hassoun will take on the role of President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). In this role, John will report to the Board of Directors and be responsible for overall VT Group executive management and corporate strategy.


Prior to joining VT Group, John was President and CEO of Vistronix Intelligence and Technology Solutions, where he was responsible for the significant growth of the company in the Intelligence and National Security markets, leading to its acquisition by ASRC Federal in 2016.


John has over 25 years’ experience in the government services sector with roles in executive leadership, corporate strategy and business development, business operations, and program management. After a successful career as a program manager for the U.S. Air Force, John served in executive leadership roles at publicly-held General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) and Veridian (NYSE: VNX), and served as co-CEO of ATS Corporation (NYSE: ATSC) until its acquisition by Salient Federal Solutions. John’s extensive executive leadership experience also includes chief executive positions that he held internationally with Global Integrated Security and Olive Group.


John currently also serves as a board director of GardaWorld Federal Services and GardaWorld Government Services. Both companies are leading providers of worldwide comprehensive security and risk management services.
