The U.S. Navy required rapid deployment and integration of advanced directed energy systems to counter emerging threats, particularly unmanned aerial systems. NAVSEA sought an efficient and cost-effective way to install and integrate the Optical Dazzling Interdictor, Navy (ODIN)—a laser weapon system—on surface ships. The challenge included managing complex installation requirements while ensuring scalability for future systems.
VTG led the installation and integration of ODIN, aligning with NAVSEA’s priorities and leveraging deep C5ISR expertise.
VTG’s leadership in ODIN deployment accelerated the Navy’s ability to field directed energy weapons, enhancing shipboard defense capabilities against aerial threats. The successful integration of ODIN has laid the groundwork for future high-energy laser systems, improving readiness and adaptability across the Fleet. VTG’s approach ensures that advanced technologies are delivered efficiently, safely, and in alignment with strategic modernization goals.
