Chris Bahret serves as the President of VTG’s Defense Engineering & Sustainment strategic business unit. In this capacity, he is responsible for developing and delivering full-lifecycle engineering solutions for aerospace and defense platforms, systems, and critical infrastructure across multiple domains.
Chris has performed in several leadership positions at VTG, including as Executive Vice President for Defense Engineering & Sustainment, and as President, Naval Engineering. In the latter role, he integrated a new business unit into the VTG enterprise, contributed to several collaborative growth initiatives, and coordinated the successful transition to a max-telework environment following the onset of the global pandemic. Chris joined VTG following the acquisition of DELTA Resources, where he served as Vice President for Customer Solutions, guiding growth strategy and business process transformation.
Chris has over 30 years of operations, business development, program management, engineering, and organizational leadership experience in the Federal government contracting market. He has participated in a number of industry/government forums to foster improved services acquisition and delivery efficiency and effectiveness. Chris got his start providing program and engineering management for U.S. Navy AEGIS and amphibious ship acquisition programs. He began his professional career as Production Manager and Operating Engineer with Bethlehem Steel Corporation, Marine Division, working on new construction and repair projects. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering Systems from the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
