VTG ensures that warfighters have the intelligence, situational awareness, and combat-ready systems necessary for mission success. Our proficiency in the systems engineering, integration, and installation of C5ISR systems provides a decisive advantage for the warfighter at sea, in the air, on land, and in space.
We ensure that new C5ISR systems are successfully integrated within the ship or submarine platform, at shore-based installations, and across the Fleet. Applying our systems engineering prowess, we validate that newly inserted C5ISR technology is interoperable with existing systems and identify any cross-platform issues. We also specialize in the last-mile installation of C5ISR equipment and systems on different platforms, recently completing one of the first shipboard installations of the Navy’s latest laser weapon. Looking to the future, VTG is conducting engineering studies and analysis in support of emerging warfare systems.
VTG is instrumental in establishing and updating policies, procedures, and execution plans for the Navy’s C5ISR modernization program. Our experts address process deficiencies that impact resources, operational capabilities, and interoperability. The new instructions we develop, which incorporate all facets of modernization, streamline the fleet delivery process for combat systems while ensuring more rigorous configuration management and reduced interoperability issues.
The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Naval Systems Engineering Directorate (SEA 05) provides the engineering and scientific expertise, knowledge, and technical authority necessary to design, build, maintain, repair, modernize, certify, and dispose of the Navy’s ships, submarines, and associated warfare systems.
VTG has supported SEA 05 and its predecessor organization for over two decades. We provide strike force interoperability engineering, technical, and program support for the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, and Interoperability Modernization Process (C5IMP). As part of this process, we manage C5I baselines, evaluate maturity criteria, examine interoperability between proposed installations, and conduct risk assessments. By validating the introduction of new and upgraded systems into the Fleet, we contribute to reducing risk and enhancing the readiness and effectiveness of deploying ships and strike groups. As a result, VTG helps ensure that every sailor has the intelligence, situational awareness, and combat-ready systems necessary for mission execution.
