Thomas Lydon serves as the President of VTG’s Aerospace Engineering Strategic Business Unit (SBU). Tom has more than 30 years of experience in execution, development, strategic planning, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) of business within the defense, aeronautics, spaces, and information technology sectors. He is a skilled government contracting executive with experience executing, developing, planning, and acquiring business within the defense, aeronautics, space, cyber, and information technology sectors.
Prior to joining VTG, Tom served as Senior Vice President, Business Development and Strategy at Sabre Systems, Inc. where he was responsible for overall strategy, growth, and business operations. In addition, Tom worked to implement the company’s 2020 vision leveraging his key software and cyber expertise. Previously, Tom served as Corporate Senior Vice President at Vistronix where he leveraged his experiences to develop a complete business development program while supporting the acquisition of six companies over a four-year time period.
Prior to that, Tom was an executive at both SAIC and Veridian. He started his career with the U.S. Navy as an E-2C radar operator for the Carrier Aiborne Eary Warning Squadron (VAW-126), and supported airborne early warning, air intercept strike, surveillance, and other missions from the E-2C in both exercise and real-world tactical scenarios. He attended the College of Southern Maryland in La Plata, MD.
